PRESIDENT - SUNAINA
Hey everyone! I'm Sunaina Rao and a P3 at UHCOP. I completed my Bachelor of Science in Microbiology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2009. As president this year, I plan to expand on the wide range of activities in which SSHP already participates to achieve the most dynamic and successful year yet. I hope to be able to further develop member benefits suited to the interests of students of each year. I am also a member of the Student Section Executive Committee of the Texas Society of Health System Pharmacists and the UH Representative on the board of the Gulf Coast Society of Health System Pharmacists. Upon graduation, I hope to complete a residency in Infectious Diseases but I'm open to other avenues as well. Apart from involvement in the pharmacy profession, I am co-founder and an assistant teacher at my mom's Indian classical dance school based in Dallas, TX.
PRESIDENT-ELECT - AMY
Hello my name is Amy Lehnert and I am a P2 at UHCOP. As president-elect, I intend to maintain and enhance our chapter’s high goals of providing opportunities for students to focus on leadership, service, networking, and professionalism within the clinical/hospital realm. While working throughout the year with the Chapter President, I want to expand our membership benefits through beginning the process of initiating hospital and clinical pharmacy site visits, as well as clinical faculty and student networking sessions. I also wish to work with our amazing team of officers to enhance clinical skills, disease state management, and poster training for students. I am confident that this will be a remarkable year for our chapter, and I encourage everyone to get involved in all the wonderful things we have planned for this year!Upon graduation, I would love to do a PGY1 residency, as well as a PGY2 in either cardiology, transplant, or critical care. I am definitely open-minded to other areas of specialty, of course – I’m excited to see how the next few years at UHCOP will develop and focus my interests! I’m an outdoors nut and my kitchen functions as a bakery. My husband and I enjoy backpacking national parks all over the USA, and are constantly planning and dreaming about our next trip. Top item on my bucket list: hike the Appalachian Trail!

TREASURER - ALLAN

Other than the expected duties like keeping track of finances, I'd like to establish a long-term relationship with a white coat vendor that SSHP can depend on (in terms of quality and price) for years to come. I've also been brainstorming ideas like accepting credit cards for dues/fundraisers, allowing UHCOP applicants to try coat sizes on interview days, and get additional support from the university to fund out-of-town conferences and on-campus events.
Upon graduation, I would like to complete a PGY1 residency. Ideally, I'd like to be trained in the TMC. Not quite sure of my specialty yet but I'm veering towards Oncology, Infectious Disease, or Nuclear Pharmacy. In my spare time I like to
play piano, sing in small groups, and write computer programs.

SOCIAL CHAIR - SARAH
Hello! I am happy to be one of your social co-chairs this year. I'm originally from Austin and graduated from UT Austin with a B.A. in Humanities with a focus in global medicine. I went to grad school and worked for a couple years before starting pharmacy school, so I'm what you'd call a "non-traditional" student. I may be somewhat older, but I'm still young at heart! Houston is surprisingly a really great place to live in and to go to school. I've come to love the super diverse culture and really appreciate all that the academic community has to offer. I hope to go into a career in clinical pharmacy and possibly doing a residency after pharmacy school. I'm still learning a lot about this profession and all it has to offer and hope to provide any help I can give to all of you. I hope to have a great year with you all!
