Jeremy Ninan

Hey everyone! My name is Jeremy Ninan, and I’m a P3 at UHCOP. I’m thrilled to serve as SSHP President for the 2025–2026 school year! I completed my pharmacy prerequisites at Texas A&M and currently work as a pharmacy intern at Houston Methodist through their longitudinal MILE program. After pharmacy school, I plan to pursue a residency in transplant, cardiology, or critical care. SSHP has played a huge role in helping me connect with both fellow students and pharmacists across the Houston area. Our events provide great opportunities to network, learn about different specialties, and explore the residency pathway. If you’re curious about residencies or want to learn more about what clinical pharmacists do day-to-day, SSHP is the perfect place to start. I’m excited to work with all of you and make this a memorable year!

Hey everyone! My name is Brinlee Freeman, and I'm currently a P2 at UHCOP. I received my Bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University (Gig em!) and I currently work as a Pharmacy Extern at MD Anderson through their longitudinal program. I'm super excited to be serving as President-Elect of SSHP this year. I joined SSHP during my P1 year because I knew I wanted to pursue a residency and was eager to explore all the opportunities and resources available. Over the past year, I've grown so much both personally and professionally, and I'm incredibly grateful for the connections and experiences I've gained through this organization. My current interests are in pediatrics and oncology, and SSHP has truly opened my eyes to the many possibilities within pharmacy while giving me an early and valuable understanding of what residency entails. This year, I hope our team can continue to educate students, guide them through the many different career paths available, and create meaningful opportunities for growth. I can't wait to meet everyone and see what this year has in store!

My favorite thing about SSHP is how it connects students to real-world clinical opportunities while building a strong professional network. Through SSHP, I’ve been able to attend residency events, connect with mentors, and grow as both a student and a leader. This year, as Vice President of Communication, my goal is to keep our members engaged and informed while highlighting all the incredible things our chapter is doing. Outside of pharmacy, I enjoy playing volleyball and pickleball, exploring new coffee spots, and working out. I’m excited for another year of learning, leading, and connecting through SSHP!

For undergraduate, I went to Texas A&M University where I obtained a bachelor of science in biochemistry. I am pursuing pharmacy because I was always interested in how medicine works and how it can help treat a lot of patients. SSHP has allowed me to network with many different people and gain insight into the different fields of pharmacy residencies. Some of my hobbies consist of working out, playing video games and hanging out with my friends. I am excited to serve as one of this year’s SSHP residency outreach Co-Chair!!!

Service Co-Chairs

Kaelyn Alexander

My name is Kaelyn and i'm from Lafayette, Louisiana! I chose to pursue pharmacy so I can be an accessible resource for patients. It's really important that they feel taken care of throughout their whole journey on medication whether it's a short term illness or a chronic disease state. Pharmacists are able to be there with the patient throughout it all to ensure their medication if efficacious and safe. I joined SSHP to have a chance at a leadership role in an area I am definitely interested, residency! Through this organization i've been able to network with businesses around Houston in order to create unique service ideas for our chapter. My goal for this year is to continue to create and foster relationships with other health care providers and people within the community. I want to build a strong group of people around me that will help me become a better pharmacist. Outside of pharmacy school i love to play tennis, try new food, and watch reality tv! Excited for a great year with UH!

Estrella Flores

Hi everyone! My name is Estrella Flores and I am a P3 student from Illinois, but grew up in Houston, TX. I chose to pursue pharmacy because while working as a pharmacy technician, I saw how meaningful my pharmacist’s role was in his patients’ lives and the unique access they had to his care—it inspired me to follow this path, with the goal of making the same kind of difference for patients one day. My favorite part about being involved in SSHP is the supportive community and the opportunities to connect with pharmacists and peers who share a passion for health-system pharmacy. Through SSHP, I’ve gained valuable leadership experience, learned more about residency preparation, and connected with mentors who have guided me in my journey. As Professional Development Chair, my goal is to help students feel more confident about their career paths by connecting them with mentors, resources, and experiences that will prepare them for post-graduate training. Outside of pharmacy, I enjoy traveling, reading, and hanging out with my friends, family and my bulldog, Pakkun. I’m excited to see all that SSHP has in store for us this year!

I'm Tai Nguyen, a P2 pharmacy student from the University of Houston College of Pharmacy. My passion for pharmacy grew during my three years working in an emergency room, where I saw pharmacists play a critical role in patient care. Collaborating with healthcare teams in such a dynamic setting inspired me to pursue this field and contribute to improving lives. SSHP has been incredible in showing me the diverse opportunities in clinical pharmacy and fostering connections between students and professionals. I love how SSHP’s passion creates a supportive community. This year, I aim to deepen my involvement, expand my clinical knowledge, and help strengthen our network. Outside of pharmacy, I enjoy cooking playing with my cat, which keeps me balanced and energized. I am excited to be a part of SSHP and look forward to grow alongside with this passionate community!

Fundraising Co-Chairs

Picture

George Hosni

Hey everyone! My name is George Hosni, and I’m a third-year pharmacy student. I was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt, and moved to the U.S. in 2020 during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. I chose pharmacy because I’m interested in chemistry and healthcare, and I see pharmacists as the drug experts in healthcare. Knowing how drugs work is key to improving patient care and achieving the best outcomes. I joined SSHP because it helps connect students with residency opportunities through guest speakers and workshops, and it’s also helped me discover my interest in clinical pharmacy through the clinical case skills competition. As Fundraising Co-Chair, I’m excited to raise SSHP’s visibility on campus. When I’m not studying you will find me binge-watching TV shows, playing video games, hitting the gym, or playing basketball. I’m excited for all the experiences this year will bring especially the chance to work with such a great team!

Monet Le

Hi, I'm Monet. A P2 and one of this year's fundraising chairs. I'm excited to work with everyone this year. Some fun facts about me is that I'm from Tennessee and only moved to Houston last year. I'm really into trying new food and drink places and hanging out with friends. I enjoy blind boxes and playing video games. Pharmacy school so far has been a really good experience and I'm excited to make new memories!

Medication Safety Sr. Chair

Allison Chun

Hi everyone! My name is Allison and I am a P2. I am from Katy, TX and went to UH to complete my pre-requisites before entering UHCOP. I decided on pursuing pharmacy after working as a pharmacy technician in my senior year of high school, and thought it matched my goals of being an expert in my field of study while also having a great impact on patient health. I decided to join SSHP as a P1 to learn more about health-system pharmacy, and I stayed because I truly believe we help connect students to their future careers. One of my favourite events is the residency mentoring social, since it provides a great opportunity to talk to different health-systems and gain a wider perspective of what pharmacists can do and achieve in their careers. In my free time, I’m often watching a new drama or getting boba with friends. My goal as med. safety senior chair this year is to enjoy my time with the rest of the team and help plan and execute some great events for this year!

This is a great org to gain insight about residency and clinical practice, as well as connect with driven, ambitious members through the extensive ASHP network. In my free time, I love trying new restaurants, listening to music, playing volleyball, and rewatching Gilmore Girls. I look forward to meeting everyone!
